Of the three most visible and succesful alums of the first Contender series who do you feel is the best fighter with the best path lined up for him?

Alfonso Gomez, Peter Manfredo Jr, or Sergio Mora?

Jaidon Codrington, by the time the contender ends and he wins he will be skyrocketed into the top.

That is contender in general but I say for season one I would choose Sergio Mora, I mean he was offered the title shot, but he still is one of the top ranked middleweights in the world.

While Gomez is easily the best of the trio, but the welterweight division is so competitive at the moment. Mora might have the best chance of picking up a title as he can fight at 154 and 160, and if the taylor-pavlik winner moves up he might be able to fight a weak opponent for a vacant title. They will probably end up fighting for WBU and IBC titles in televised main events, bet the purists will love that.

I went with Gomez myself.. He looked ****ing sensational against Gatti.

        Amazing, underrated performance.

That said however; I'm not completely sure which one of these guys has the better path laid out. As I've already said I've been pleasantly surprised.. Maybe even a little shocked at how well these guys have done since the show. I never would have thought..

Manfredo is the best of the bunch, in my opinion. He had the stars lined up to make decent cash for a few more fights until he 'really' stepped up but he took on calzaghe much too early.

yeah i had to go with gomez aswell.

It would have been interesting if the ref hadn't stopped manfredo against calzaghe so early, just to see if he had absolutely anything in him at all.

              I can't disagree.

The ref stopping the Calzaghe fight was one of the most embarrassing things I've seen in the sport for some time. Manfredo shoulders some of the blame for that situation - at least enough to agree with your feeling he made that move to early. I'm with that.

Gomez was teh man back then, and he is the man right now.

Biggest heart, best skills, the best charisma out of all of them.

                Gomez, Gomez, Gomez.

I apologize on behalf of Britain for that knob head refs decision.

                  I paid £200 for those 3 rounds.

my man gomez is, i think, the best, his upper body movemnet when he was a 140lb brawler was ace......add to that that his only loss should be against manfredo, the ishe smith loss was a hometown decision, he even got a point deducted for one low blow without warnings...it shouldve been a draw....the feliciano loss was a robbery, even the espn team had him p by three points...i also thought he won the rubber match....

sergio mora is the second best...and has more chances of winning a belt..

manfredo is solid but the guy is too lazy to make 160, he has no chance at 168...
