Hatton: "Nobody Will Convince Me I Have No Chance"

I'm very pleased with what I'm hearing from Hatton in these clips.
His head is in the right place and he understands almost like a 3rd party observer exactly what's going on in the situation.
I just wish that this situation between Boxing observers/fans wasn't so generic.. Aside from a few exceptions virtually all Yanks say Hatton will get blown out and stands no chance. It cheapens this situation a bit. This could be an absolute classic, and we'll be robbed of the proper buildup with all this oversimplified nonsense..
More so than Hatton being a Brit, in this case I think alot of the apathy has to do with the fact that he is White. I have very little doubt about that..
Like Ricky says though - anyone who thinks that has no clue, IMO.Last edited by Addison; 09-02-2007, 03:30 PM.Comment

I am starting to like Ricky Hatton more and more (not to win, but just as a fighter) because of the **** he has done recently.
He goes back up to 147, after a bad performance in his fight try.
He calls out the #1 P4P guy and then doesn't back down from the fight.
He has confidence still, even though a lot of people are writing him off.Comment

Nobody knows what goe on inside a persons mind. For all we know, Floyd is scared ****less, while Hatton is petrified too.I am starting to like Ricky Hatton more and more (not to win, but just as a fighter) because of the **** he has done recently.

That's why these little interviews mean nothing. Everything is resolved in the ring.Comment

Even so, the first two are still nice to see in a fighter.
Regardless, if Hatton was scared out of his mind, I doubt he would be going on record telling everyone that he is still in the fight. The difference about what he is saying compared to others is that he is saying that he is a big underdog, and he will probably need some luck to win, but he still thinks he can pull it off. That is nice to hear instead of the usual, "Well, if I just execute my game plan, I will win easy."Comment

I disagree, hatton was very truthful in this interivew, he admitted he could lose and said he would be the 1st to congratulate floyd if he did, he also said something which is very true,
Sometimes the most talented fighter doesnt win,
Which is true, so you never know,
By the way guys, mayweather is gonna be on his bike for the forst couple rounds, he gave it away in an interview addison posted, he says he will box hatton for a few rounds then move in,
I think floyd will play it safe in this one, rack up the rounds like he did against DLH, unless you were one of those that had de la hoya clearly winning.

Psychology has proven to be a failed effort in boxing, bro.Even so, the first two are still nice to see in a fighter.

You can't guess on ANYTHING that's mental. I'm not saying you're wrong for your opinions, though.Comment
