Your Mexican people should really get behind the young up and comer, he is showing alot of promise and his work ethic and attitude in the gym is incredible.

                TODAYS INTERVIEWS FROM *********...

                Ortiz, Martirosyan on VERSUS!

                Wednesday, August 29 2007

"I'm right on target and I'm ready to go," hot super lightweight prospect Victor Ortiz told *********.com on Wednesday afternoon. The highly regarded Ortiz (18-1, 13 KOs) who fights out of Oxnard, California's famed La Colonia Gym takes on Emmanuel Clottey (24-7, 14 KOs) in the televised opener on Thursday night's Top Rank Versus Fight Night. Ortiz describes his style as "pretty aggressive but at the same time careful, actually pretty exciting," and adds "the only prediction I have of the fight, is just a 'W' at the end." If Ortiz gets by Clottey, there's a good chance he could land a spot on the November 10 Cotto-Mosley undercard.

Super welterweight Vanes Martirosyan (14-0, 10 KOs) faces Alexis Divison (16-6, 12 KOs) on the card. His fight will make TV if either of the headlining bouts end early. The unbeaten Martirosyan, a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic team, says he's ready for any challenge put in front of him. "It's all up to Top Rank. Whoever they put me with, I'm good to go." He's normally trained by Freddy Roach, however Roach is currently in the Philippines with Manny Pacquiao. "Freddy Roach isn't training me for this fight, Eric Brown is," says Martirosyan. "When Freddy's here, Eric is my physical trainer, so he and Freddy have been working with me." Vanes says Roach and Brown regularly communicate by phone.

The main event on the VERSUS-televised card the Grand Plaza in Houston will be an attractive NABF lightweight clash between Miguel Huerta (24-8, 17 KOs) and Efren Hinojosa (29-3-1, 17 KOs).
