We talking hardest hitting? Or accurancy? Or a mix of both? If both I'd say Joe Louis.

I say Foreman for the simple fact that he didnt have the speed nor did he get leverage or bend his legs.Nor did he turn his torso. All he did was arm punches and he knocked ppl out.Now imagine if he did all of those,DAMN.

to me the topic asks who the greatest puncher was, which includes power, accuracy and speed. in that case I'll take Louis. Shavers is possibly the heaviest puncher, but that doesn't mean he's the best puncher.

I assume that this poll is about the quality of punch rather than the power of it?

If so it has to be Joe Louis.

Pure power then Shavers (Foreman and Frank Bruno would be in around a similar level power wise)

I can't believe that Foreman is third on the list as of now

You guys are reading way too much into a simple question and making it more complicated than I intended. So I hereby rephrase the question: Whose punch had the most jolting impact or effect upon his opponent? Period.

Distinctions such as accuracy, speed, quality, aesthetics, etc. are irrelevant and inmaterial to the only issue at hand, which is POWER!

Foreman's punches may have taken a year to reach their final destination, but when they landed, you knew that you were hit, if you were still conscious...

Ok,How many great fighters did Joe Louis Ko? How bout Frazier? Shavers? Cooney,Dempsey? Dont let your obvious hate for Tyson cloud what his punching power was.

Also to clear it up he did ko Holmes.

OKay then I'd take Shavers, followed by Foreman, Marciano, Lewis' straight right, Tyson's hooks...any more for any more?
