As I mentioned, I would NOT have assigned Roach any blame. But he involved himself into the whole Arum/Pac/GBP triangle.

If you take the (typical) trainer's approach that you are responsible for delivering a prepared fighter, then I'm not faulting you for the business stuff.

But Roach became involved with the business affairs. So, he bears responsibility when the distractions arise and when things start going badly.

Manny has nobody to blame but himself. He's too caught up in his celebrity status and is getting very complacent. I see a Mike Tyson effect going on here where the money and his status has gone to his head. I'm definitely picking MAB to win this fight.
        a) I believe that , as a trainer, you have to adapt to the situation and tell the fighter EXACTLY what he needs to be doing. Goossen telling Corrales "You know what you have to do now" while putting the mouthpiece in. FMS telling (yelling at) Oscar that Mayorga is done and to go knock him out. Dundee telling SRL "you're blowing it son, you're blowing it". THAT is what I need a trainer to do when the fight is slipping away.

        b) You are picking MAB for the same reasons that Atlas is. Probably the smart move.

Iam tired of all the reports about manny and his training. Who cares where he trains and how he trains. If he wins he wins If he loses he loses. It starting to be a damn soap opera. I haven't heard one report on barrera and his training. Maybe manny needs a good boxing lesson barrera is capable of doing it.

Roach is kind of screwed in this whole situation and I don't see it getting any better for him. If there wasn't so much money to be made off Manny he would have dropped him awhile ago.

Pac was supposed to train in L.A. Him flying back home to train without telling anyone (especially Roach who is his trainer) shows that Roach is in the dog house with Pac in a bad way.

Fighters train where their trainers tell them to. This shows that Pac has lost all respect for Roach as a trainer and is going to do what he wants.

As someone else stated earlier, it's like the Tyson situation all over again. Trainers couldn't get him to do his work when they asked him to. The only reason any of them stuck around was for the paycheck which is exactly what Roach is doing. He'll make a fool of himself just for the money.

Manny wants a yes man which he has in his boyhood friend (the chubby dude). Only problem is that working the mitts with your buddy while cracking jokes for an hour or two every day isn't going to win you big fights, especially against world class competition.

I could see it already "Manny, you want to run a few miles and spar some rounds?", Manny's response "Nah, lets shoot some hoops".

He should have enough to beat Barrera who at this stage of his career is ready for retirement, but put him in their against someone in their prime and he'll be in trouble.

i agree w/freddy a boxer needs to be focus, and needs to train hard,
they need their privacy and he is not getting it,
he likes his fighters to be 100% ready...
i wouldn't blame him if he leaves,
                      pac-man would look bad
                      not freddy
