Couture started late, he was already over 30. Thus the wear tear he has in him isn't has great as some 30 year old who started in his teens.

not as skilled as boxers?...as in hand speed and knowing how to bob n weave yeah but these cats are wrestlers....they are way more skilled than boxers....i love both and last night's ufc was to me one of the best ppv's this year.....this ppv was better than oscar-floyd......roger huerta is a bad mofo...being able to counter a jit-jsu specialist is something special watching it live.....couture is a legend no doubt about it......GSP showed the many levels of fighting they have with kick strikes, wrestling, and great counter punching ...he's def the best athlete in the ufc right now.....knowing that the vargas-mayorga ppv was cancelled i decided to order this and im glad i did....

Can't go that far. Kimbo Slice is a good fighter but he needs to do his road work.
If he continues to gas out like he does in his street fights THEN he is a dead man in the UFC A.K.A Gay ****

Boxing is a part of the UFC as well, and considering how talented Mayweather is, he'd keep it a boxing match, jab and move laterally. These guys would be diving for the legs buy Mayweather would just slide out of the way and bash 'em in the head. And he'd jab as they come in.

I can see it in my head. It would be so easy. UFC guys just arent talented boxers, or even punchers. They punch like amtuers and its a fact.

The fights can be entertaining, im not saying anything about that, but the fighters themselves are just not skilled. Maybe the next generation will be
And what happens when Mayweather takes a a couple kicks to the thighs? You say you are "giving MMA a chance" but it looks like you are just trying to find a reason to hate on it.

These are two different sports all together. Why would they want to have perfect boxing technique when they need to worry about a bunch of other things? Basing their level of skill on their ability to box is ******ed. IT AINT BOXING. Boxing is one of many martial arts, and they apply every art in their sport.

I'm not into it as much as I was a couple of years back, but I still recognize and respect the skill involved because make no mistake about it, there is plenty.

everyone pretty much knows this, why take a person and stuff them in a sport they dont belong in? BUT, its definately not impossible for a boxer to make it in mma if he could adapt

but why in the hell would I want him to adapt? It would be a waste of his boxing ability if he went into mma. Even if he could adapt to mma, he would just overmatch people standing and it would look like a mismatch, OR he would get taken down where he doesnt belong and it would be a mismatch AGAIN. thats just the reason Im not a big fan of mma anymore...

keep fighters in their element, thats what looks the best, when you have two of the best of a certain style going at it, it goes into realm of fine art, that very rarely happens in mma because of all the styles.

Kimbo is a joke. a total nobody in mma.
                      He's a street fighter...
the guy took several weeks of basic training with mma veteran bas rutten prior to his fight against Ray Mercer...

and that was enough to totally annihilate him...

Just imagine what an elite MMA hw would actually do vs anyone under MMA rules...they'd all be turned into cans.

No skilled athletes in MMA? THINK AGAIN...
