    Ten U.S. Olympians Crowned in 2008 Trials

    (HOUSTON,TEXAS) — Ten U.S. Olympians were crowned on Saturday night at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Boxing at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Two bouts will be contested on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions to determine the remaining two spots. [details]

    Boy that Andrade just has Thurmans number......Thurman had a very impressive KO of Hatley to get a chance to face Andrade again......oh well no Olympics......now he'll turn Pro,his style is better suited for the Pros anyway......

      I haven't really seen to many of these amatuers fight. Does anybody know which fighters have a good shot at medaling at the olympics?

        They dont have the BOX OFFS anymore? It used to be that the Olympic Trials champions had to face off against their most noteworthy contender again to solidify a berth on the team. They don't do that anymore?

            Shawn Estrada is a great fighter. He's gonna do very well in the olypics and in the pros.

            The man he beat, Danny Jabobs, is a 4 time Golden Gloves champ, just won this year again, and he is very very very very good. ANd Estrada beat him desively.

            Look out for him.

            ANother guy to look out for in the olympics, he's a Puerto Rican, Luis Del Valle who was VERY impressive in the Golden Gloves tournament. He has a picture perfect Left hook

              ive seen andrade williams yanez and ali, all those guyd are very good but i think amateur level yanez and andrade may be the best....

              williams may be a good pro, he reminds me a lot of vernon forrest...

                there are some real good amatuers this year and im really lookin forward to seein them as pros.

                And sometimes the best dont even make the olympics so we'll see

                  Thurman ko'd Hatley? I thought I read he won by decision 23-14.

                    My gym used to go spar at the gym where Yanez attends. The kid's pretty amazing. I've been following him for a while and can see him taking the gold for the U.S.
