On a recent conference with the media, Ricardo Mayorga predicted victory over his Sept 8. opponent, Fernando Vargas, and said that he plans to move down in weight to pursue bouts with WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto and former three-division champion Shane Mosley. Mayorga and Vargas collide at a catch-weight of 162-pounds at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Showtime PPV will televise. [details]

Actually, I guess when Mayorga beats Vargas, the Cotto/Mosley winner would see him as a name fighter with an increased current reputation to take on - big PPV - but little chance of being upset by The Matador...Comment

I'd rather see Floyd get the winner of Cotto/Mosley. Mayorga should go after Williams,Cintron or Margarito that would be the more interesting possible matchups to me.Comment
