Bulldogs were crossed with terriers to create a breed that was strong enough and determined enough to be thrown in with bulls, which lead to bullbaiting for sport. After being outlawed, it was the evils of man that pitted them against each other for entertainment.

No breed of dog on the planet was bred for that purpose. All dogs are good dogs, it all depends on how well you nurture and take care of them. Jones' comments were distasteful and unsettling. But what do you expect from a guy who openly fights roosters to the death?

As for his comments on Vick "clearly not knowing" how serious the "sport" of dogfighting is: Hey Roy, ignorance is no excuse.

all those pits should be set free in a yard to jump and play and socialize with other like other doggies. I saw 2 pits playing in the dog park and it quickly turned it to a bloody mess. I don't think pits are bred to be let out with other dogs.

No, it's just that nobody was talking about it in the news. Here in America, 3 major networks decide what news we see and they all decide on the same stories. Dogfighting itself was always a major issue in the South but it never made for good television, it took somebody as largescale as Michael Vick to bring it into the mainstream.

Not everything is always as simple as it seems.

I don't know if all that **** about Gerald McClellan being a huge fan of dogfighting is true or not... but it is kind of strange that his best friend in boxing is also a big fan of animal fighting and defended Michael Vick on this point.

Roy Jones Jr. also just joined a fraternity...

When you are past your prime in boxing, it is likely that you are too old to be joining a fraternity.

a lion would have a hard time and out of 10 times, the bull would thrash the lion the majority of the time, what the hell can a little 50 pound pitbulll to do a bull?
