After the little country of the Philippines dealt a humiliating 5-1 beating on Mexico in the recent Boxing World Cup, there were speculations that the event was rigged. Accusations abound that Oscar Dela Hoya sold out his own countrymen by putting in bums against Filipino prospects, in an effort to cash in on the so-called Pinoy-hype, and elevate the Filipinos to new heights in world professional boxing. This despite Mexico sending 3 world champions as against one only 1 from the Philippines, and an old-timer at that.
This presents to be very unfair to the great boxing nation of Mexico.
If you were given a chance to select which Mexican boxer each Pinoy should have faced, who would it be :
Diosdado Gabi (Junior Bantamweight) vs. __________
Michael Domingo (Junior Featherweight) vs. ____________
AJ Banal (Super Flyweight) vs. _____________
Z Gorres (Junior Flyweight) vs. _____________
Gerry Penalosa (Bantamweight) vs. _____________
