Dominicano had the right idea, but race has nothing to do with it.

        Additional truths:

Gatti went 4-3 in those last seven fights.

Gatti was stopped three times in those seven fights, never seeing the championship rounds.

In the fight against the so-called best fighter in the world, Gatti landed ten power punches (TOTAL) in six rounds.

Gatti was stopped by Hall of Famers Carlos Baldomir, and Alfonso Gomez.

In 2 of Gatti's four wins, those guys retired from Boxing immediately after.

In 2 of Gatti's four wins, the opponent had never fought outside his home European country.

gatti laid it all out to entertain the fans. he was not one of the greatest fighters of his era, but he had a hell of a heart. he doesn't belong in the hall of fame but he does belong in every single "i'll never forget when..." type of boxing story ever told.

props to arturo. quit hating on a retired fighter who did his job the best he could. if it's his fans that annoy you, learn to ignore. but don't take anything away from a guy who doesn't have a hell of a lot to take away from him in the first place- cos he left it all in the ring, for YOU.
