I sparred Ottke in Germany many times...good fighter...good skills, well schooled. He was a THREE time Olympian for Germany (1988, 1992 AND 1996). He actually turned professional on the undercard of my fight with Graciano Roccigiani in 1997. As an amateur he beat, among others, Michael Moorer. He lost twice to Herny Maske. As a pro he was unbeaten and defeated among others Charles Brewer and Byron Mitchell.

i dont know why the talking so much trash about him, yes he got couple of gifted fights but many fighters get gifted fight. He fight in his come town and many fighter fight in the own country.

and you need strong chin to get a gifted too as well as couple of local and regional wins to get some support

I'm kinda curious about this fight; were the judges/ref ever investigated? And how did the ref justify deducting the points?

well maybe Robin Ried knew he was going to loss anyway he was paid to do so.

could be anything and I think if he wanted it so bad he would have made some nosie but probably it could make him look bad because he will be on the microscope and maybe Ried will take all the skeleton in his closet

As long as money is made for some people is better to look the other way and not ask about it or the problem will be much bigger

Ottkes proper record should be about 20-14. I think the saying "you need a knockout to get a draw" arose from a Sven Ottke fight.
