Hopkins: Easy Punishment in Las Vegas

Judah fined 250K, suspended for a year over a lowblow (during a fight) that even Mayweather said was unintentional. Judah was getting nowhere near the amount of money Hopkins got against Wright. And even if it was an intentional lowblow, how many other fighters in Vegas throw lowblows, headbutts, etc. and get no punishments at all.I know, I know!! Whoever wrote this sorry ass, non-articulate peice of **** is a disgrace to journalism and neutrality. A certified ******* who is probably racist.. Mayorga slaps Vargas, and nothing happens. Hopkins taps Winky Wright on the face and gets fined 200,000 bucks, and this creep says he gets off easy?!! WTF? People on stage could of gotten hurt? Did you see what happened to that lady in the Vargas/Mayorga brawl, who landed right on her ass? I believe they both should have gotten fined like 5%, since that is inappropriate and the commission need to clamp down on it, but why do it to a man with no history of it, but the man who does it at every PC gets away with it?
Anyways, like I've stated, whoever wrote this is an ******* and I don't want to read anything from this jerk ever again, he should be banned from writing.
And, it was Roger Mayweater that started the whole in-ring brawl. Under just about every commission rule book, if someone from a corner jumps in the ring during a fight, that fighter (Mayweather) should be disqualified. How was Judah at fault there? The ref had use force to hold back Roger from going after Zab, and then Yoel came in to defend his son.
Roger Mayweather suspended and fined, but Leonard Ellerbe who also rushed the ring and got involved was not. There were photos all over the net of Zab being choked by Roger against the ropes. If it happened in NY, Roger would have been banned for life.
The point is, the bigger names in the sport get a pass on everything they do. Money talks in Vegas.Comment

sorry BPP i have to throw in my two cents about the judah comparison on this topic.
1) it was more than a low blow it was the low blow in combination to the punch to mayweather's brain stem, the back of his neck, which is far worse then the low blow.
2) as for being disqualified you are correct, if someone comes in the ring from a fighters corner, their fighter is disqualified, but in the case of mayweathers, richard steele had already called time out so it wasn't during the action, but in that case under nevada rules it's the referee's call whether or not to DQ the fighter, in which steele did not.
3) although roger was the first in the ring, yoel judah threw the first punch which staggered roger (which was funny as hell because it wasn't even a solid shot) but non the less yoel started the brawl by throwing the first punch, roger might have instigated it but he didn't throw until he was hit first.........
4) also ellerbe didn't go in throwing punches he went in to get roger and was assaulted by zab judah who started throwing at whoever was in front of him........
i just want to clarify that i am in no way shape or form defending mayweather, judah, or either of their teams.
but as for the rest of what you were saying, you are correct, not saying that you weren't, it just wasn't all that clear........... all the commissions want is as much money as they can get, no matter how they get it. and whoever has the higher price tag like you said is going to get the larger bill.Last edited by deuce_drop; 08-19-2007, 11:07 PM.Comment
