Brian Minto Returns against Lunsford on 8/23

Five months after his disappointing loss to long time heavyweight contender Luan Krasniqi, Brian “The Beast” Minto 27-2 (16 KO’s) is set to return to the ring this Thursday night (August 23rd) at the Mountaineer Race Track in Chester, WV to take on the battle tested Ray Lunsford 19-7-2 (7 KO’s) in a scheduled eight round heavyweight match-up. Minto, who is ready to get back in the win column plans on ****ing out a swift victory over the Arkansas born boxer, “This is going to be a one to two round fight, I am knocking Ray Lunsford out!” [details]

This is a good tuneup fight for fringe contender Brian "the Beast" Minto and a win will hopefully give him some confidence going into his possible matchup with Joe Mesi in October. Guys like Minto are good for the hw division...

I like Minto, and I hope to see him break through "fringe" contender status that shadows him now and develops his skill and power enough to really become a threat.

I’m a fan of Minto’s but I don’t ever really see him achieving anything beyond the status of fringe contender. Minto’s small compared to the top hw’s of today and kinda reminds me of “Little Mac” of Mike Tyson’s “Punchout.” Nevertheless, I wish the guy all the luck and hope he can get a nice pay day before he ends his career. Also, I think this guy has the body type and agility to employ a Mike Tyson peek-a-boo style…

FYI, Minto KO'd this bum in under 2 minutes of the first round. Time to bring on Mesi!...
