  • Why is MAYWEATHER so tense in recent fights?

I remember in the CHAVEZ fight, he would just lean back on the ropes, completely relaxed and focused, and would just showoff these amazing defensive skills.

But in the DLH, JUDAH, and even the BALDOMIR fight, he was so jittery and nervous against the ropes.

I think personally, he lost some confidence in his skills against the ropes somewhere along the way. Any idea where though? I mean, even now he's basically as good as you can possibly get against the ropes...

EDIT: On a sidenote, im watching CHAVEZ-MAYWEATHER right now, and what ****in fight is LEDERMAN watching? this is the most laughable scorecard ive ever seen... through six i think he has Chavez winning...

    These were BIGGER men.

Floyd had only been a welterweight for 5 months when he fought Judah. Although Zab isn't a very big man, he carries a very big punch.

Baldomir isn't supposed to be a big puncher, but somehow he hurt Zab and destroyed Gatti. Baldo has alot of overall strength. And , like Forrest said, is relentless.

No explanations necessary for ODLH @ 154 pounds.

This is why Floyd was VERY happy to go fight a small guy like Ricky.

Yeah I really feel Floyd's best weight is 140 so I do think he's more conscious then ever about getting clocked. Plus he's realistically past his speed and reflex prime (not much past it) but after turning 30 he clearly needs to and has become a little less risky. BIgger punchers he's fighting is the obvious and pretty spot on answer though. He might look pretty relazed against Hatton although we might see more of the potshot style from the Baldomir fight as well

I totally saw that. He is very concerned about catching the big ones at light middle. I don't think he is as tense after he gets hit. I think there is always the " what would my opponent's best shot feel like" feeling

He just doesn't want to get hit as much anymore against the bigger guys, the last time he really came to be in a real give and take fight was against Chop Chop Corley.

Kofi Jantuah said that Floyd is a tough kid and can take a shot. Sparring partners don't badmouth their bosses. But I'm inclined to believe him because Zab can bomb, and so can Oscar. PBF isn't getting KO'd by a single shot. But still, the danger lies in getting buzzed, and having the guy rain on you.

Oscar won several fights that way, and that is how PBF beat Manfredy. He knows how risky that is.

Also, his dad told him not to underestimate Oscar's power.

His confidence might have diminished some because of the first Jose Luis Castillo fight... he wasn't able to slip the punches when he was on the ropes nearly as well as he has in any fight previous to that one.

Floyd has been known to discredit everyone, but let's be truthful; If we were in his shoes, would we be giving props to our future opponents? Hell no, I;d bad mouth them, in order to sell more PPV'S, it's all about money baby! PBF, (by the way, I can't stand this cat) has done charity work, and I never think those are fake

You should report him to the FBI.
