Will American Judges Favor Hatton's Aggressive Style?

Clinton Woods gave this opinion in the new Boxing Monthly.

But don't assume everyone in the UK is picking Hatton. Many of the top fighters, trainers, and experts in the UK are picking Mayweather to win - including Joe Calzaghe, and Frank Warren.

Do you agree that Hatton's aggressiveness will help him in a descison with the American judges?

Whoever Enzo Calzaghe is picking to win, it's almost a certainty.

His pick is my pick, he's a genius.

On the subject, no, the judges will favour Floyd's handful of jabs over whatever Hatton brings.

Well with all things being equal the judges will favor hattons agression. So the answer to the poll is YES. BUT most likely all things won't be equal.

I think the judges will favor Hatton's aggression myself..

They need a reason to give it to him.

Hell, we've just been exposed as favoring White pitchers in baseball, White players in basketball, and we already know us Pinkies get the advantages everywhere else.

If it's close - I say the the descision has already been made.

Ricky Hatton is going to win a descision.

I just hope that the judges are fair and that if the match goes to the cards we will see scores that reflect the match.

In all seriousness I think American judges do favor aggression and hard punching more than anything.. But that's just me.

I should have added a "Hatton will get KTFO" option to the poll.

I'm sure the many objective members of the forum will **** up this up with that sort of emphasis in mind..

Actually Sweet Pea being robbed against Ramirez, Chavez and arguably against Oscar speaks volumes about (american?) judges tending to favor aggression even when it is not effective.

Throw in DLH-Tito or the judge who scored DLH-PBF for DLH. Or Hopkins-Taylor 1, and you can easily see that, 9 out of 10, when there is a
dispute it is because judges are biased towards the aggressor and the boxer gets the shaft.
