Penalosa is good but doesn't do enough. I got Ponce by UD if there is a rematch

Ponce said he will throw more punches against Gonzalez. He did do that but only just a few punches more.

Against PDL, Gerry was countering PDL. There were at times that Gerry should have countered more. PDL was puching combs, missing or Gerry was blocking it, but Gerry just held back. Let say PDL threw combos 10x, Gerry countered 2x. He could have at least counter 6-7x.

If there is a rematch, Ponce will win by decision, not KO.

Ponce de Leon should go ahead and unify in a rematch with Caballero, it's time. Caballero didn't look too good his last time out and Ponce de Leon I'm sure will have learned something from their first meeting. A rematch would make for a good fight I think.

Penalosa should be gracious and give Gonzalez an immediate rematch. Everyone saw what Jhonny was doing before that picture-perfect liver shot landed. Props to Penalosa for landing it, but Gonzalez was on his way to winning comfortably. Unlike the article says, Penalosa was not making Gonzalez miss that often.
I agree as well a Caballero fight would make sense. If CC looked the way he did in his last fight then PDL has a good chance, but he might have the formula to beat PDL with his long reach. I feel PDL would be hungry and he would have that same kind of attitude he did againt Bautista and even though I don't think he would KO CC he would put up a better showing than their last fight. Plus a fight between them would be perfect because the winner could take on the winner of Vasquez-Marquez in their grudge match.

Penalosa vs Gonzales is not a good fight for the fans. As you have seen the first fight, Gonzales who is normally the aggressor in most of his previous fights just wouldn't engage with Penalosa. His just content of back pedalling. I don't see either domanation by Gonzales which w/c the judges thought...

On the other hand, Penalosa vs Ponce de Leon is a much interesting matchup. The typical Boxer vs Puncher bout. I like Penalosa as he is always COMING TO FIGHT even though his a Boxer Type. You don't see him Backing in a fight often even of size disadvantage. In the first fight though, I thought Penalosa winning that one. Penalosa had the Clean, Accurate, & Harder Punch as compared to Ponce de Leon's Volume & Ineffective punch... THE JUDGES IN THIS FIGHT DIDN'T KNOW WHY BOXING IS CALLED SWEETSCIENCE.

Gerry is a real warrior. He wanted to prove he won the first fight and is rarin to prove he could do it again. I think Gerry has a legit shot to win against Ponce but Ponce will know what to do next time they fight.

I dunno I want Gerry to win but DPDL is a monster in the ring. Gerry has never been stopped tho so it's going to be interesting to see what happens if this fight materializes.

              Nice analysis there.

I think an immediate rematch with Gonzalez is what Penalosa should do. I have a feeling Gonzalez would be more aggresive in a rematch and take back his title. Like I said before, props to Gerry for landing that great liver shot, but Jhonny was winning the fight without putting too much effort into it up to that point. A rematch is a must IMO.

In the first Ponce de Leon-Penalosa fight, I thought Daniel won it by two points. It was close without a doubt, but even though Gerry had some great rounds where he made Daniel look very bad, Daniel's constant workrate and not-very-often-mentioned body attack in that fight won it for him...although barely. A rematch would be a more one-sided affair for Ponce de Leon I think if he learned anything from the first fight.

I love Gerry, but I think the Ponce we saw againts Boom Boom was a different animal than the one who fought Gerry. He looked stronger, more alive, he just looked better and due to probably being alot more prepared. PDL also has something to proove againts Gerry cuz he looked like **** letting a little man back him up like that and probably knows that alot of people thought he was the looser. I think PDL comes hella ready if ever they meet again and I would be curious to see if Gerry has his number. Gerry could get hurt cuz he aint getting any younger and that beast PDL is most likely going to try and take him out early. Gerry gotta do what hes gotta do and I think Gerry has unfinished business againts a fighter he thought he beat before he is at peace with the thought of retirement.

If PDL came in with the same attitude he had for Bautista for every fight, he would be a force to be reckoned with even more. He had a high work rate againts Penalosa but still looked lazy. Maybe because he wasnt landing or kept on throwing arm puches but he didnt have that same aggression that he brought againts Bautista. He came to KO Bautista and he didnt look that way againts Gerry. Maybe its because Gerry made him look that way but I give him the benefit of the doubt when he said he under estimated Gerry and came in not as prepared. Gerry is old, we all know Gonzales is a hurdled past. We all know that Gonzales will box even more the next time around and it will be boring to watch. Gerry isn't at the age where he can afford to give people second chances at taking away what he can retire with, and who are we kidding, Gonzales probably will in a rematch. He wants PDL so let him retire win or lose knowing he accomplished all he could with the little too late time he was given to leave a mark on the sport. Gerry should've been around fighting the best in world in the biggest stage in the world long time ago. Im just happy for him that he was given some recognition. We all saw Gerry pull out the victory at last minute againts Gonzales in a loosing battle, I wonder how it feels to be Gerry? His boxing career in essence reflects his fight with Gonzales; A last minute victory. What a redeeming feeling that must be.

Hahaha, did you even see the first fight? I gave Gerry ONE round (I believe it was the second), other than that, PDL swept him. Not only that, he actually boxed Gerry and, while he didn't look good doing it, did it effectively. Gerry lost that fight CONVINCINGLY and those who gave Gerry more than 1-2 rounds were judging with their hearts and not with their eyes.

IF there is a rematch, PDL by WIDE UD again!
