At age 35, do you think Mosley is past his prime?
Is Shane Mosley Past his Prime?

A natural lightweight who grew to be a smallish welterweight. A guy who took steroids. A guy who has taken some shots in his career. Never been a particularly defensive fighter. Has trained alot, including a lengthy amateur career. 50 fights. Alot of rounds. 36 years old by the time he fights Cotto.
Magic 8 ball says "all signs point to yes".
In fact, I'm expecting Shane to show up at one of his next fights and to look like hot garbage. Boxing isn't kind to 36 year old lightweights. Those guys get old overnight. -

Yep, still he would probably beat Hatton and give Floyd all he can handle...Comment

C'mon.... everybody knows who wears the pants in that relationship.
I remember the Mosley-Vargas Countdown show. Shane was up in Big Bear training. They filmed at the house, and Jin was saying how "Shane had it easy because she had to take care of the kids and house".
a) Your husband makes millions based on that job. I think you can hire a $200 maid to help clean the house.
b) If boxing is so easy, Jin, whaddya say that you go a few rounds with Lucia Ryjker? You go box, and SSM will make the PB&J sandwiches.
c) Wasn't she a waitress before Shane married her?
d) Everybody thinks she's a shrew.Comment

Mosely has definately slowed down BUT he's 35 years old.
Most fighters do tend to drift from their prime around this age.
is he still a good fighter? of course he is.
I admire shane for being 35 and still looking to beat Mayweather BUT i think oscar had a better chance of beating him that shane does. Thats not a rip at shane at all, i like him and think he's a good fighter but im not so sure he could beat mayweather...hang 12 rounds and make it a competitive, good fight? of course. he'd probably lose by split decision though...so i wouldnt say it wouldnt be a good close fight...just not one i'd be willing to put money on him winning...i'd be hoping he would but my brain says he'd probably lose.
i still think he has enough left for some great fights though...i think 2 or 3 more and it will be time to retire.
i look forward to seeing how he plans on fighting cotto and very interested to see what gameplan each fighter comes up with.Comment
