Look At Trinindad vs. Jones Like This...

I hear alot of criticism of Roy Jones Jr. taking this fight. But lets not forget these are two fighters who are past their best, not just one. Many seem make this fight look like a prime Roy Jones picking on a washed up old Tito Trinidad. But wasn't Roy Jones Jr. just two years ago was written off as completley shot? Isn't Trinidad technically the younger fighter. Also people say Tito has no chance, but hes not fighting a technician like a Hopkins or Wright. Roy Jones keeps his hands down and doesn't fight like a Hopkins or Wright. For that very reason and the fact that Roy Jones is nearing 40 I think Tito has a shot to win. As far as this fight being bad for boxing, I don't think its bad for the sport. Any match that brings attention to the sport can't be bad. It is a shame that the mainstream fans will care about this but not Taylor vs. Pavlik, but thats their ignorance. Hopefulley the fringe fans that do order this fight because of the big names will also comeback to see what else is going on in the sport. This by no means is as meaningful of a fight compared to fights such as Taylor/Pavlik but look at it as the end of an era for two fighters from the 90's. If your a Roy Jones Jr. fan, enjoy Roy's last big fight(most likely). And if your a Tito fan enjoy his last big fight(most likely) aswell. Just enjoy it for what it is, two boxing legends past their past battling it out with each other because its makes the most sense to do so. I wouldn't want to see Jones vs. Dawson or Tito fight the premier 154 lb. fighter. They are past their primes. These guys have nothing to prove...Although I would like to have seen Roy fight G. Johnson, hopefulley that still happens.
