Manny Steward wants Zab Judah for Cintron..

....in regards to a potential fight between IBF Welterweight Champion Kermit Cintron and Zab Judah on Showtime in December of this year.

"We'd love that fight, " said Steward.

Steward added: "Kermit would like to fight in December on a big card. Hopefully get Andy Lee on the card as well."

Steward also gave indication that a fight with Antonio Margarito could also be possible, stating: "We'd love to fight Zab Judah or Margarito if he wants. "
Interesting that this could happen in December..

Another solid fight for what's been one hell of a 2007.

LoL, I guess that officially means, Zab Judah has turned into a gatekeeper?

lol i was thinking the same thing, thats why im glad fighters like gatti and erik morales have retired, i wouldnt want up and coming boxers beating them just so they can have a name on there record.

judah needs a couple of tune up fights before steppin in the ring with a top fighter again.

Which is what is he shoulda done before he fought Cotto, and decent tune ups. Not guys like the one guy he fought.

Dude, a gate keeper is the person you fight to transform yourself from prospect to contender. Zab fought Cotto (who already was a champion) in his last fight so how the hell is that a gatekeeper's fight? If he fights Cintron, another champion, it wouldn't be a gatekeeper type fight, either.

Now, if you told me Andre Berto was fighting him then I'd say he's acting as a gatekeeper (three loses in a row and then fighting a prospect qualifies).

However, I don't think that Cintron would benefit much from this fight. He should look for other fights such as the Williams fight or the Margarito rematch. Why waste his time with Judah? Just because he called him Kermit the Frog a few times? *** that, don't give him the satisfaction.

Andy Lee? Manny must mean just on the card, not the Showtime co-feature, he would really have to step up and fight someone like Joval or some other solid vet, and that would be a huge leap in competition level.

the name as well as the fight could be made easy because Zab is really dessperate for big fights and Cintron giving him that. making a fight with Zab will give him any offer and he will fight him.

But Cintron is stronger puncher than Cotto and has the straight right which is a good weapon against southpaw and tall. Zab punchs e****ally the jab is just throwen without looking or anything that is dangerous with a puncher

zab would be a nice name for cintron to add to his resume.... plus i think he would KO zab much quicker than cotto did... the biggest puncher in the division vs the shakiest chin, the first right hand that alnds and the fights over...

                    Great point.

We keep thinking of Zab as some kind of top guy. But Zab is really the welterweight version of DeMarcus Corley at this point. ZJ is a guy who will test you and pose some problems. But if you are really a top guy, you should beat him.
