Do we forget that Maskaev is a puncher too?

Maybe he is no Mike Tyson in terms of speed and sharpness, but the man can punch. Peter can take a shot, but he can also be hurt as he just keeps coming forward.

I still see this as a win for Peter, but I never hear mention of Maskaev's chances of hurting Peter.

I hear you. Maskaev isn't bad at all, he can punch and box a bit. But I exect Peter to work him with the jab and those short winging right hands. Maskaev has a chance, but I hope and expect Peter knocks him out.

If oleg was just a bit younger I would have gave him a decent chance of beating Peter but now he is just incapable of keeping high work rate.

Like most, I'm picking Peter to KO Maskaev in dramatic fashion. However, I'm alittle concerned that Peter may come into this fight alittle out of shape and not at a good fighting weight(this 9 months has been his longest career layoff). If he does, Maskaev better exploit it...

The only way Maskaev is got a chance is, if Peter comes into this fight heavier than usual and not in good condition. Which I think btw, is a good possibility because Peter's experiencing his longest career layoff(9 months).

There are punchers then there are punchers. Maskaev may well have a decent punch but Peter can take your head off. When you add to it Maskaev's questionable chin (KO in one by McCall) and Peters apparent good chin (did sad Wlad even wobble Peter?) seems to me to make for a blow-out Peter win.

He sure did, with a left hook of the back foot in the 12th round. A beautiful punch that only one man in boxing could throw.

But yeah Peter has a great chin

yes Wlad wobbled Peter nothing sad about it

I bet Maskaev at +450, he could get blown out but I think he wins it if it goes past the third round

Peter got no neck, so you cant even turn his head with a punch. those head turners are one hitter quitters.
