I'll pick Penalosa on this one. I would've loved for this fight to have taken place back in the 90's.
Anyway, Penalosa wins and here's why- Not too long ago, Arce looked lost against Mijares, who's a southpaw just like Gerry. Gerry can fight on the inside and box on the outside as well. Arce has proven he cannot deal w/ angles, and Gerry's gonna feed him angles all night, and when Arce gets wild and tends to get emotional, he'll be eating some precision guided bombs from GP.
Arce's style is actually made to order for Gerry. As we've seen w/ GP in the past and last night, he has the most problems w/ guys who are tall, lanky, long arms, and fighters unwilling to engage and Arce is the opposite of all those fighters GP has lost to or has had difficulties w/ en route to a win.
Arce has terrific infighting skills, and is pretty much a mini-locomotive, that GP will be more than happy to take advantage of. A straight-forward fighter is GP's favorite to lunch on!!
