no I agree with you but i know that when i'm tired and I fake it's either to slow down the attack or sometimes I may use it as assault but I'm more acceptable to get counter.
for your trainer, check to see if your learning new stuff and don't never be afraid to ask question about offense or defense tatic and if need be look around the gym and see what other are doing and just imitate and if you learn more doing that then you need a new trainer lololol remember it's your career make the moves
