Heard the HBO commentators saying that JG wants to go up in weight and the fight with Gerry might be his last at 118. If he does, how about a fight against Ponce.

Ponce got power punches but limited boxng skills. Got a good chin also.

JG also have power in his punches and have better boxing skills than Ponce. Height is his advantage too.

This will be a good event for Golden Boy Promotions.

That would be a decent fight. Jhonny has pretty good boxing skills, but it seems he owns a fighter for the majority of the fight and then all of a sudden his opponent does something to change the fight completely. He was pretty much dominating Vasquez when they fought, but Vasquez caught him like he usually does and turned the fight in his favor and then tonight Penalosa looked lost and was on his way to losing and then boom a killer body shot.

I feel Jhonny's shorter punches and good combinations would catch De Leon at some point with his wild punches and Jhonny would outbox him. Though he could have a lapse like it seems he does and De Leon would make him pay. So I wouldn't mind seeing them fight it could be very interesting.
