Can Calzaghe beat Hopkins?

When was the last time hopkins legitimately stopped an opponent? You can't beat calzaghe by throwing as little as hopkins does.

Asked this a few months ago id' have said a tough fight. But, Hopkins looked old in has last fight [not surprising for a 42 year old] and given Calzaghe's work rate and speed, Joe would win this one by decision.

NOT ONE SINGLE FIGHTER with a significant quick punch. Granted, the Lacy fight was a huge win for Joe, but what did Jeff do to test Joe? lol nothing..No defense, or precise offense. He got slapped to death..

Hopkins is cold blooded and precise. Joe's chin dangles out there for a fighter like Hopkins. If Bernard's nerves hold steady, and he doesnt try to "Box" Joe, but go for the kill....I got Hopkins by KO or decision with a knock down or two.

Styles make fights, and Hopkins style is tailor made for to dismantle Joe.

ok..im not going to belittle you for being a moron...or curse your opinion on the fight....BUT you said he dangles his chin..as if it was a technical flaw..it isnt...its like ali holding his hands low...he's inviting his opponent to jump him..so he can counter...its a ploy boxers use...so your reasoning for him beating joe...isnt great.....if a counter puncher knows his opponent has a huge punch..obviously he isnt going to keep his hands as low..or dangle his chin as much...and invite huge punches....(btw i dnt think hopkins is a HUGE puncher)...

...but somepeople have a dislike of calzaghe..and will hope n pray that their fav boxer will give him a beating...and then chant USA USA..and everything ni the world be in its rightful place once again hey?...lol..im not fussed either way...a good fight is a good fight...but this would be an ugly fight....joe should move up....

lol gotta be a flat out doofus to see that as a "plus" for joe. Hopkins would exploit those soft punches too fast. He's not the type to get overwhelmed with soft punches..

Joe to stay active with slap shots, wouldnt be wise for joe. Bernard would throw somthin sharp between those slap shots. Somthin sharp and mean.

He wants one last big payday. In the build up to the Wright fight he said "I need to win this fight to go on..."

If he lost his marketability would have plummeted. There aren't many big fights out there for him to cash out, only Jones but that doesn't seem likely.
