absolutely, all hype or lack there of will be proven in the ring before the bells tolls 2008. Cotto is obviously getting over hyped on boxing boards by his large latino fanbase but at the same time the pedulum swings too far in the other regard with people refuting his skills and ability, that said can we get back to discussing how and why Cotto and Mosley have what it takes?

do you people not see that cotto has not beaten any great fighters yet?? his best win is probably judah. when was the last time judah even won a fight?? this is the same guy that zoo knocked out in 2 rounds and he even lost to that bum baldomir. judah is trash but is cottos best win. he has wins over malinaggi torres ndou but those are only decent fighters. i only think he deserves to be considered one of the best if he beats mosley but mosley may expose him to be a fraud.

cotto is lucky margarito was robbed against williams or he would definetely lose his next fight.
You're a racist idiot. Who has Margarito beat, moron? You need to get banned from the boards already...your BS has gotten old.

i'm not a margarito fan but Maragarito blocked a **** load of punches with his gloves, I thought he had the harder ****s,but if you think Daniel Ponce De Leon beat Penelosa I guess he lost, but even then Ponce De Leon hits hard not weak slaps,Cotto not overrated

i don't think cotto is over rated and i thought the margarito-williams fight should of been a draw margarito did pick off a lot of those punches.i think miguel can beat everyone in his division beside mayweather

Margarito picked off a lot of punches, but five rounds is the most you culd have given him. The rounds Williams won were obvious.

there is an intangible that many are not discussing that is that Cotto continues to demonstrate improvement against better and better opposition. Mosley peaked years ago and has maintained to an extent. So we have two of the top 4 welterweights 1 going up one either flat or fading slowly down. If Cotto can continue to use a hard jab, to break Shanes rhythm, take away shanes wheels with body punching, and limit mosley's power by forcing him backwards under a constant barrage of face rearranging punches he has a very good chance of taking this fight. Shane should attack early, and take Cotto out before he gets that engine revving. At the very least Mosley needs to build an early lead and then try to hold on as Cotto comes on going down the stretch. Whats your winning fight plan for each guy?
