Hopefully Lawton will make enough money from this fight to put some gas and electricity on his key meter.

In other words, Its another typical frank warren opponent.

That was my impression too. This is just a fight to keep Khan busy and active before the Earl fight. What do people want? For him to fight someone tougher than Earl in the tune up to him?

oh dear lets try to explain yet again. board members do not hate kahn it just frustrating that he is earning millions and he will never be a world class boxer because of his chin, he is completly overhyped and suckers like you are buying it.

I'm not "buying" it, it's not khan's fault that he's being paid alot, why should he rush his carrer just because some muppet in a suit is paying him millions?

I wanna see khan walk the talk he has been doing, he thinks he can beat the best of british, so put him in there. He calls people out, then doesnt fight them, im still waiting for him to have that 4 round fight with mayweather that he said he would win

And to Msagrain, i care little for the english lightweight title, it means zero.

you still dont get the point do you it`s not kahn the person i`m having a go at, like you say good luck to him, i`m having a go at the people who believe he is something special and they believe all the hype. i think genuine and knowalable boxing fans know he will never be world class.,

I for one don't want khan stepping up too fast; he's 20 years old and has a questionable chin, i'd give him another 4 or 5 fights at domestic level, then 3 at euro and then look for a world title.

You go look at 80% of HoFers records. they fought guys much worse than lawton in their 14th fight.

EDIT: I got mixed up with meager, still this is an ok fight given khan's need to slow down a bit.

no..you were right. lawton was thaxton's last fight and was doing quite well until he got cut and thaxton caught up with him. in fact, the way thaxton sometimes struggled to reach someone 6 inches taller could be a reflection on how any fight with khan would go.

i don't think this is much of a step down from limond either. limond may be more skilled than lawton, but at least this guy is a full-blown lightweight and will give khan no reach or height advantage

hopefully khan will have learnt from the limond kd. if he can win this fight impressively, whilst not getting his chin into any trouble i think he'll be ready to be moved on.

Not the most interesting fight out there for at Khan but it should be a decent test. At least he is facing someone who is the same size but I have to say im once again disapointed he's fighting someone with only 20% KO rate, he is going to have to fight someone who can punch one day. This fight should hopefully set up a fight with Thaxton, which would be a cracker.
