Witherspoon looks ok. He has the physical frame to be a top heavyweight. I am not sure about his skills though. He is still pretty raw.
Any up and coming HEAVYWEIGHT talent in the US?

its going to be hard for any american prospect at heavywieght because of the void thats missing from an americans standing point so anybody with potentiol is gonna get brought up too soon and ultimatly fail , and i dont think america has the patience the brits had with frank brunoComment

simple answer, NO! Listen I really like Eddie Chambers' skill, but he doesn't have the power to be a star, he's another Chris Byrd.Michael Marrone is an absolute joke and only looks good in the gym. Chazz Witherspoon will challenge some fighters, but lacks the desire to be special. Chris Arreola will fight a goddamn rhino if he had to, but his agression masks his lack of technique. JD Chapman has some skill and is getting better, but his opponents aren't, so he is still a question mark. Travis Wlaker is too stiff, but has beaten two tricky ad savy guys in Garcia and Estrada. Not to mention that our amatuers aren't that good either. the highest weight boxer in the Pan-ams to get to the finals was light-heavy. I think the heavyweight medaled while the super-heavy was upset by some colombian guy. The big boys in the states that could box are playing football or even lacrosse. Hopefully boxing will continue to gain popularity with the great fights that are coming out and then maybe some uber-talented kid will choose boxing over the other sports. Even though I don't feel there is a star amongst the young Americans, I do think they will upset and frustrate some big time guys down the road. I almost forgot Kevin Johnson, great jab, quick fighter, good defense, NO BALLS, and I think his right arm was amputated; at least he fights as if it was.Comment
