    Incredible Punchstat

I have been looking for the exact numbers on this fight, but apparantly Joe Calzaghe landed (not threw, actually connected with) 1,007 punches against Jeff Lacy. That has to be some sort of ****ing record. I mean, Antonio Margarito holds the record for punches thrown with 1600 some, and I know he wasn't landing at a 62.5% of his punches (which would be 1000 out of 1600).

Apparantly he is going to double his punches landed against Kessler

I don't hate Calzaghe, but if you are going to talk ****, at least do so in a reasonable, realistic manner.

thats some incredible numbers. I think Calzaghe is gonna get his due credit when he beats Kess. To be honest i bet if you check the numbers from some bantamweitghts and stuff the numbers would higher..

They would have to be landing at a ridiculously high rate. Like I said, the record punches thrown in any weightclass is a little over 1600, and even then, he would have to be landing at over 60% to reach 1000.

1,007 was actually the number he threw but ITV told him it was the number he landed which is why he thinks he landed that many punches .

I remember someone on East Side boxing going to the trouble of counting the punches landed by Calzaghe in the fight and I think they came to a figuire of around 450,so 557 is a huge overshoot
