Joe Calzaghe Vs Nigel Benn? Who would win bothe at there best?

Nigel Benn in his day was a very dangerous man. His aim was straight forward he would come ahead and take your head off. He beat alot of fighter by knockout in his early days. He was a great champion and also won the wbc belt abroad which is alway difficult. To me benn at his best was when he took on McClellan the best peformance of benns career amazing. In the other hand you have calzaghe who has neva been beaten. He beat chris eubank for the wbo belt which he has defended even more than eubank. He beat the odds by outclassing lacy and has hit the big time now. But calzaghe has never been tested like benn was in a much harder era in the early to late 90's. What do you think???

I have to pick calzaghe. benn got outboxed by Chris Eubank and Calzaghe was a better boxer than Eubank. he would be too slick for Benn.. The only reason why Benn beat Gerald MCclellan is because he had to be dirty and headbutt because MCclellan knocked benn out of the ring in the first round so Benn know that he was losing. Unless benn could rough Calzaghe up and throw him out of his game then he could probably beat Calzaghe. but a safe bet would be Calzaghe by descision.

saying that tho Calzaghe likes to come forward and likes to go to war if the other person chooses to, vs Benn he would be killed doing this. Be a fantastic fight

Benn was at his best athletically at 160, he lost his speed at 168. I see the Calzaghe who fought Lacy not allowing Nigel to set himself, while the regular Calzaghe would get drawn into a war and find Nigel's dodgy jaw, with his own chin helping him through.

What makes u think Cal is better then Eubank in his prime?...thats a debateable point.......Benn was never at the TOP TOP of his game when he and Eubank met....so the fact that Eubank won..doesnt mean he would have won if Benn was at his peak...and so your arguement that Eubank outboxes him..and cal is better then Eubank..so Cal would win..i dnt buy it.

I think its even....i can see Cal trying to counter...and use his boxing skills...but Benn was a better harder hitting, and quicker, more mobile fighter then Lacy...it would all depend on how well Cal takes those swinging punches..

I think G-man V Cal would be an interesting match up...he was more up-right then Benn, yet had ferocious power....would have been a goody

There is a huge gulf between Benn's opponents and Calzaghe's opponents, there's no question about that

Watson, DeWitt, Barkley, Eubank, Galvano, G-MAN > every one of Calzaghe's 20 world title challengers

But the thing is, Benn took on guys nobody else in the world would fight (Watson, Barkley, Eubank, Sims, McClellan) whereas Calzaghe seems to be (or claims to be) the guy that others wouldn't fight...

Sorry but benn lost 6 and 1/2 pounds 3 hours before the weigh in. So he was already drained before the first fight thats why eubank won. The second fight was different which benn was robbed. He won clearly and outclassed eubank!!!

I dont mean he is a better boxer. i just meant he has the better boxing skills. and quicker hands. if Eubank and Calzaghe fought in thier primes, Eubank would have probably won. who knows

Calzaghe can't even punch properly. He doesn't have very good boxing skills, he relies on instinct. He's never thrown a combination in his life - only flurries. He can't move near as well as Eubank, outside of turning Lacy and Bika. Joe is a crowder/brawler who likes to get inside and scrap, before his hands went he was an active slugger/puncher.
