yea,,,,I agree that peter has a much better chin and does stop maskeav but I just dont think it will be as easy and quick as many think. I dont think maskeavs chin is as bad as it was. most of his knockout losses came in succession after that kirk johnson fight when he lost his confidence. we'll see soon enoughComment

I agree. I think peter gets him in the 8th. I think maskeav has enough experience to hang with peter early on. eventually peter's tremendous physical strength will do maskeav in. peter is powerful but not a guy that blows quality or even semi quality opponents out earlyComment

Peter can box?
I saw quite a few of his fights and the first time I saw him throwing more than one punch at the time was in his last fight with Toney. I guess you can call that an ability to box.Comment

But you are a boxer in a boxing business and you been long enought to knowGL: Do you think this fight will go the distance?
OM: "No idea, I'm not an expert and I don't know what's going to happen. It can go the distance or it can be short and stopped in a couple of rounds. I'm going to tell you something, the heavyweight division today is very seldom that a couple of strong guys can stand there and fight for all twelve rounds."

because people are morons and don't realize that Samuel Peters got a gift decision against a fat lazy James Toney in their first fight. Samuel Peters should already have 2 losses on his record but got a gift decision in their first encounter. And James Toney isn't even a natural heavy-weight. And in the rematch james toney came into the fight in ridiculous bad shape, and Samuel Peters kicked the crap out of him.Comment

I've said this since the fight was in talks a while ago and I'm going to stick with it. Oleg by decision. I think he's grown into a tough smart fighter and Peter is going to be sloppy and over aggressive as always. People really look too much into this "chin" thing, which isn't exactly a measureable science to begin with. I will say that Peter has youth, speed and power on his side, and that will be difficult too overcome. Peter is a fighter of great ability but after the last two Toney fights(yeah, I wasn't that convinced by the second one), I'm not sure he's put it all together yet. But I don't see this being a massacre on either side.Last edited by Thunder Lips; 08-08-2007, 06:04 PM.Comment
