I agree. The ref can cradle Ricky's head until the ring doctor steps in to resuscitate him.

na! hatton can box as good as anyone! but he chooses not 2. not his style
hatton is a toe 2 toe fighter. hatton can beat floyd on the inside with his non stop pressure & world class body shots!
& floyd can win by boxing hatton and avoiding him on the inside!
truth is non of them have fought anyone like each other before which = an interesting contest!

i really hope hatton destroys mayweather and breaks his ribs, BUT i dont think he will, mayweather will run the whole fight and get a gift decision from the judges like he does almost every fight!

i dont think hatton will exactly "school" mayweather but i will tell you i think he has a great chance of winning the fight.

of course i was rooting for Oscar when he fought floyd and in my opinion Oscar De La Hoya won that fight.

I'm a firm believer of the saying, "you must clearly BEAT the champ to BE the champ". i dont think (at all) that mayweather BEAT oscar de la hoya.

We have to remember Oscar (at the time going into the fight) was the champ so floyd should have to have proven something. floyd didnt. he spent most of the fight running for oscar. He didnt want to mix it up (at all) with oscar.

oscar was the one pressing the fight. he let his hands go and did flurry after flurry. oscar showed to me that he wanted to remain the champ while floyd didnt seem to eager to take the title.

anyway...(this topic of oscar vs. floyd still makes me mad when i think about it) back to the topic at hand.

Hatton has a better chance to beat floyd than oscar did. he's younger than oscar and is faster than oscar. hatton is a two demensional fighter; he can box you or brawl you.

If hatton wants to win he's going to have to box the opening rounds and work on getting body punches to land (to slow floyd down) then as the fight progresses he can start to brawl mayweather (since if he works to the body enough floyd wont be able to run so much...or as fast at least) and thats when ricky can make it a hatton fight. not a mayweather fight. if he hurts mayweather to the body enough look for him to brawl mayweather and try to test out mayweather's chin. if hatton gets a clean open shot he could REALLY hurt floyd.

ricky is a tough puncher and he has an excellent chin (compared to mayweather's power). mayweather wont be able to put ricky on the canvas...actually the ONLY way it will happen is if ricky is off balance but we all know mayweather can NOT over power ricky hatton.

if floyd wants to win he's going to have to go on the defense and use his jab to keep hatton away. he's going to have to use his speed...protect his body from those tough body punches hatton like to use and make this a boring (for the crowd at least) type of fight.

floyds plan should be to keep moving...jab...move...jab...move...jab right hand...move...

so look for hatton to make it an agressive fight and floyd to make it a defensive one.

            thats my take.

if mayweather's speed can last the whole fight and he doesnt slow down (due to getting body punches from hatton) then mayweather wins a split decision on the card.

if hatton can take away mayweather's speed and pressure him the whole fight and use his jab to get inside on mayweather and get him on the ropes (and unload those hard punches) look for hatton to win on the card via split decision.

hatton will NOT get knocked out.

mayweather will NOT get knocked out (maybe knocked down if hatton can catch him but not out)

as for a winner i have to say (with my heart) hatton...

Hatton has a better chance vs PFB than an old DLH had. DLH was never a good pressure fighter anyways. To beat PBF you have to outwork him, cut the ring off and keep pressuring him as in the Castillo 1 fight.

You're an idiot. You do know that if you were to place Hatton and PBF as Calzaghe or Lacy, Hatton=Lacy and PBF=Calzaghe (stylewise, that is). So, in answer to your question, no, but I'll flip it around: Floyd will dismantle Hatton like Joe did to Jeff.

OK Hatton won't put on a clinic like Calzaghe did. Floyd won't be outboxed. The guy who can outbox Floyd isn't yet born. I believe Hatton is going to win by outwilling Floyd, and by outthrowing him. Mayweather is going to be pushed well out of his gameplan by a ferocious Hatton and will either crumble or he will stun everybody by proving just how good he is.

floyd is gonna put on a clinic on hatton. hatton is overrated. and will be proven in december.
Riddle me this: If a fighter takes on the number one rated fighter in the world and loses in a fight he is expected to lose... how does this "prove" he is overrated? If Hatton loses against Mayweather it will prove that he has been rated accurately.

american weren't sold on Lacey... he just looked big and tough
Lacy was hotly tipped to save (American) boxing. Americans only confessed that they weren't sold on Lacy after he was destroyed by a welshman.
