My only defense was in favor of the idea that people beyond us deemed him rehabilitated and able to re enter society.

Neither one of us are the one's paroling him, and I merely stated a reason that could have explained his actions, as well as his early release.

Also he was sentenced 10 months to five years and would be paroled based on his behavior and signs of rehabilitation. The judge at sentencing might have been leanient but a parole board approved of his release.

I don't think either one of use are aware of the full proceedings and what the crime entailed, or the circumstances. All I know is I liked him as a fighter and I'd like to see him fight again now that he's a free man.

Hopefully he's rehabilitated and he can put the past behind him.

I'm with you on all of that man. My only point is I don't believe people deserve leniency because they committed the crime while they were on drugs/alcohol. Adults who make the decision to put chemicals in their body and commit a crime should be treated the same as someone who was sober. And GENERALLY speaking...They are now a days. Years and years ago, this was not the case.

IMO the punishment didn't fit the crime. I'm not saying this guy is a bad guy or that he doesn't deserve another chance (or many). I've been given more than a few in my life.
