Oddsmakers Letting the Gamblers Sort Things Out

I don’t understand it but I love it.
The line-makers at 5dimes.com have apparently made the Shane Mosley-Miguel Cotto fight a pick’em bout with both guys opening up at -120. As soon as I saw these figures I did a double-take, and then a triple-take. I proceeded to turn off my computer, restart it and logged on once again to find the line exactly as I had originally seen it. I called my colleague, Ricardo Lois to confirm whether he was seeing the same thing. Unfortunately he was too busy stuffing his face with a four pound hamburger and three milkshakes to assist me in the confirmation of this line.
This is a degenerate gambler’s dream line… a name opponent in Shane Mosley squaring off against a true savage beast in Miguel Cotto. I am licking my chops just like the bossman Marley salivating as he walks in downtown NYC and looks at the pastel suits in the window.
I expect the smart money to jump all over this line in a hurry. In my not so humble opinion, Miguel Cotto should have been made at least a 2-1 if not 3-1 favorite. I can guarantee you that by fight time the Puerto Rican Mac truck will be at least a 2-1 favorite.
Let the games begin and the money do it’s thing…
