Hasim Rahman and Joe Mesi on same card, Sep 7 in Michigan

I saw it last night on *********, and now boxrec has put it on their schedule.

They will both be fighting Sep 7 at the Soaring Eagles Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan - but not each other. Opponents haven't been scheduled yet.

I just hope they both fight boxers rated at least in the top 50, preferably in the top 25. People like Ruiz, Brewster, Lyakhovich, Virchis, Arreola, Scott, Witherspoon, Williamson and Platov are not currently scheduled. Or will they both choose to fight low-risk journeymen such as Charles Shufford, Jeremy Bates or Zuri Lawrence?

Rahman looked very sloppy against Sykes. While Mesi knocked somebody out the last time I watched him. Not sure who would win but this is an interesting fight considering this is the heavyweight divsion.

I was wondering about that too, but I see both fights are on the boxrec schedule, and the first fight with Williams has been advertised a lot. So he probably won't choose a contender for the Michigan fight. Back in June, Rahman said he wanted to fight a contender next, though...

There were a lot of rumors going around boxing websites that Rahman was in discussions to fight Wladimir next. Now that he's gone from Wlad's potential opponents list, I noticed (coincidentally perhaps) that the fight between Valuev and Bergeron (and Povetkin vs. Byrd) have disappeared from boxrec's schedule.

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling Valuev may fight Wladimir this fall.

lmao, ok I just thought yall were getting excited to watch that P.O.S fight. after the Toney fight I was through with him, then I wanted to give him a chance against Maskaev and his sorry ass almost got knocked out the gotdamn ring again, after that I promised I would never watch a Rahman fight again, unless it was against Wlad or somebody who would knock his head off, what a dissappointment.
