What's so special about that guy? He had countless opportunities to finish Brown off in a better fashion than what happened and he didn't....my thoughts are due to a lack of power. I'm not saying he didn't brake him down because thats what ultimately won him the fight but I feel he opted against going for the kill. Perhaps he was being cautious (point-and-case with Diaz pressing Morales and getting caught) but Chavez had this guy weak in the knees pretty early in the fight and backed off him. I don't see a threat in him against anyone in the welterweight division. He's over-hyped and is riding his pop's coat tails if you ask me. I'll wait till he fights a big name to prove me wrong.

Great body puncher and is still pretty young. On top of that, he's still growing, physically. He's a solid boxer. The hype isn't his fault.

As far as this fight, if he would have went in for the kill, and got caught... you'd say he was careless and over-hyped too. So, I say, he got the TKO anyway. Better the smart way, then the quick/dangerous way.

he has to be ready to step up now surely. i know he didn't have an amateur career as such, but he's had enough pro fights now, and is in danger of stagnating and becoming the eternal prospect.

he has clearly got decent skills and enough power to cope with better opponents than brown.

he won the wbc youth title last year, so maybe he should build on that and go for one of the regional wbc titles and work up to an international belt.
