    Greatest Trilogy?

Throughout the years there have been numerous remarkable and memorable trilogies between rival fighters. Whether it was the classics like Zale/Graziano, or Ross/McLarnin, to the unforgettables like Ali/Frazier, and Leonard/Duran, to something more recent like Barrera/Morales. So with that said, what would be your pick for greatest trilogy of all time, and why? And if anybody here says Gatti/Ward I will curse death on their first born.

My pick would have to go to Barrera/Morales. Ali/Frazier would be a very close second, but the brutality and courage displayed by Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales for the 36 rounds they fought. Their three fights had everything a fight fan could want to see in a fight, brutal bodyshots, devestating headshots, knockdowns, and controversial decisions. Talk about two guys who were tailor made for each other style wise, their hatred for each other outside the ring transcended into utter beauty in the ring.

If ever an argument could be made that brutality could be beautiful, one would be remisced not to take note of Barrera/Morales.

MAB and Morales is the best IMO. One of the most hyped with have to be Pacquiao and Morales however.

I feel like a total lame ass for not having seen the majority of the old trilogies, in fact, I have only seen Pacquiao-Morales, Barrera-Morales, Gatti-Ward and Bowe-Holyfield.

I rank them in this order
          1. Bowe-Holyfield - All three fights were for the ages, even the third with Holyfield being exhausted. I will never forget when he dropped Bowe.
          2. Barrera-Morales - These three fights were all great, but the two (in my opinion) incorrect decisions in fights one and two hurt the trilogy. Also, I thought two and three were won pretty clearly, not as competitive as I would like.
          3. Gatti-Ward - Their first fight was the best I've ever seen. But after that, Gatti beat Ward's ass, because he figured out standing and trading was ******, which took some of the excitement away.
          4. Pacquiao-Morales - These fights were all pretty exciting, but Morales started to look shot halfway through the second fight, which took a lot of the excitement away. I also thought the first was a tad too tactical to be on the of the all time great fights.

I should probably get around to watching Duran-Leonard and Ali-Frazier at some point.

No, there was Leonard's first loss, No Mas, and then a boring ass fight between two over-the-hill fighters that the crowd booed at. It became a trilogy for the sake of becoming a trilogy.

Bowe-Golota was pretty crazy, however it wasn't a trilogy, only double.

Even if it was, I didn't think it was that cool. Bowe got destroyed physically, and Golota got destroyed mentally, leaving us with two very unsatisfying results.

Yeah, I was almost positive about the trilogy. I hate the third fight, just like 99.9% of all boxing fans.
