  • De La Hoya: "I Want To Fight Twice in 2008"

No retirement for the Golden Boy. In a recent interview with the Sacramento Bee, former six-division champion Oscar De La Hoya (38-5, 30 KOs) said that he plans to continue fighting and wants at least two fights in 2008.

Thats good to know. I bet he'll want Cotto if Cotto manages to beat Mosley that is.

That's a good sign. Extra revenue for boxing wont hurt, I'm sure.

Oscar was absolutely shredded (for him) for the Mayweather fight. See pic below.

He walked into the ring at around 166 that night. He is only getting older. He hasn't had to make 147 since the Gatti fight seven years ago. Why does he think making 147 at this point would be a walk in the park?

Maybe he didn't want to train as hard to get to 147 but now that he knows he's only got a few more years left he wants to get some big fights in and the big fights are at 147.

I don't want to see a third fight with Mosley, a second fight with Tito or a second fight with Mayweather.

As long as he does not fight these 3 men, then it's all good.

Yeah a fight with Mayweather again would be ****** and twice as boring.

I really want to Oscar fight Cotto so he can expose Cotto's weak chin.

After the Hopkins fight Winky said he was moving back down to 160 or maybe 154 so a fight could be on the cards there if they wanted it.

De La Hoya will never fight Winky Wright.

He's ducked Winky his whole career because Winky is "Too big."

He'll fight once. We all know that. The only fights for him are Trinidad, Cotto, and Hatton. If Cotto and Mosley lose this winter, he's down to one opponent left.
