i agree 100% with everybody about this article and hopkins abilities as a fighter. when i look back at his career the one fight i will remember him for was the tito fight, cos he was'nt favourite to win that one. most people had him beating de la hoya. great fighter.

Bernard hopkins v. Marvelous Hagler would have been another great fight!
Bernard is a great craftsman, hes style is a good example on how to box smart and effectively without having the really street fight your way through a fight. HAVE A LOOK AT THE ROUND THAT BERNANRD KO'd TRINIDAD, that was a beautiful round to watch. Hat off to the the B_HOP!

Hopkins will have my eternal respect he's up there now with the best of them. I would like him to get two more big names now on his record. Trinadad and Winky wright maybe. I think he beats both them guys. Jermain taylor and then retire.

Very effective and accurate article. I agree with it. Good fighters with good skill, or good power, or good speed, are good fighters. Good fighters with good brains, are GREAT fighters.

-Oscar began his career at Junior Lightweight [130lbs]
-Bernard Hopkins began his career at Light Heavyweight [175lbs]
            -EIGHT weight classes apart!!

Don't tell me that size wasn't the overwhelming factor. Bull****!!

Let's see DLH call out Manny Pacquiao to 147 and knock him out. Then let's see who wants to give him his props afterwards.

We all know what happened when DLH last faced a smaller man [Gatti]. And the size difference between DLH/Gatti had a lot less despairity than the size difference between DLH/Hopkins.

Size not the overwhelming factor my @$$!!

B-hop is the man. Even at 40 nobody can touch him.

seriously, the guy is incredible. have you watched him in his corner during the breaks? even in the later rounds, he's just chilling there, not even breathing hard. it's awesome

Great article! I have to agree with you that he is definately one of the greatest middleweights of all time but he will never get the respect he deserves till years after he is retired and people look back at the great fights of his time.
