    Williams vs heavyweight ...

British heavyweight champion Danny Williams is seeking a third fight with Commonwealth champion Matt Skelton followed by a major title fight against one of the big four world champions.
A remarkably trim looking Williams clinically broke down Welshman Scott Gammer in nine rounds to reclaim the British heavyweight crown five months ago following back to back defeats against Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton. Now a rejuvenated Williams has told SecondsOut he plans to fight Skelton a third time before challenging for another world title.

“I’m in tremendous shape right now,” said Williams. “I have a new found self discipline now. I’m eating sensibly, training well and really feel I have a new lease of life.

“ I have asked Frank(Warren) to get me a third fight with Matt Skelton then go onto the bigger fights. I’m a stone lighter than I was for the Gammer fight, i’m training all the time now and been really strict with my diet.”

The 34 year-old Williams,37-6-(30), scored a split decision against Skelton in February 2006 to claim the Commonwealth title but dropped a unanimous 12 round verdict five months later.

After Skelton v Sprott 2 Williams obviously fancies his chances, and why not? However the first two were hardly classics, I'd much rather see Audley v Williams 3 or Audley v Skelton.

Also I can't believe Williams seriously thinks the winner of the fight will get a world title shot. How many times has Frank Warren promised this only for it to never happen?
