    How good is Jermain Taylor?

Am I the only one who thinks that Jermain Taylor is probably going to look great against Kelly Pavlik? I think there was reason that Taylor was called up to fight Hopkins so early in his career, and why there was so much hype surrounding him in his early career. Jermain Taylor has some decent boxing skills and a doesn't really seem to lack in any particular area when it comes to ability. However, the last four of five fights Jermain has had have been the two types of fighters that make boxer-punchers like Taylor look terrible. The two fights against Hopkins and the one against Wright were against defensive fighters, who are able to defend (go ****ing figure) well against Taylor's punches, and Cory Spinks ran all night against Taylor, making it hard for Taylor to land punches or get into any sort of rhythm. I think a come forward fighter like Pavlik will likely be in front of Taylor all night, and I think Jermain will be able to hit Kelly more than he will get hit. I'm sure a lot of you out there disagree with me, so let's hear what you have to say.

no, i can think of a few other people here who'll say the same thing. i'm not one of them though. it'll b a good competitive fight until taylor gets knocked the **** out by a pavlik right hand. taylor is a great athlete, he's not a fighter. kelly pavlik is a fighter

      I agree with you completely.

Taylor has shown that he can hang with the best of them and win, the last 3 being defensive masters: Hopkins, Wright, Spinks.

Taylor is going to look spectacular against Pavlik. For once, this is a good match-up style wise for Jermaine.

I'm still getting over the fact that Jermaine is actually the underdog in this fight.

Taylor has a nice jab. Good speed. Nice power. Nice combinations when he throws them. Fights well in the middle of the ring. Doesn't get tagged too often. Has a pretty solid chin and is pretty confident in his abilities and athletic prowess.

His flaws.... He has poor balance, bad footwork, fights horribly against the ropes and can't AT ALL fight backing up.

Overall.. I think he makes it at the very least, a good fight against "The Ghost".

I just see him as someone who can jab, has speed and is extremely active!! So active it made the judges think he won over hopkins
