Hatton = Gatti?

I have read a lot of ppl comparing Hatton and Gatti in terms of style/skills/ accomplishments. I think this is as far from facts as the sun is from saturn.
In other words it is complete bull****.

what's your opinion?

Hatton is much different from Gatti.

Gatti was a paper champ for years. He was at his best when he was starting out in his career at 130. He has a long list of great fights but they are for the most part against average or above average fighters. As soon as a fighter had a better skill level then Gatti - he was outgunned.

Now, Hatton is different. Boxing fans used to think he was protected until he stormed onto the scene and beat Tszyu. Most guys were claiming Tszyu would knock Hatton out in 4 or 5 roudns. They said he would be too much for the kid from Manchester. Hatton proved all the critics wrong and has been doing so for years. He is going to finally be the 3rd person to make Floyd really "work".

I mean, there is a world of difference. I could go on and on..

The hatton/gatti comparison is moronic as hell and I believe it to be racial in some terms. I wonder how many mayweather fans it will upset when a white guy beats mayweather. Will it devastate them?

Hatton is on a higher level than Gatti ever was. He's a boxing superstar, while Gatti was an entertaining fighter with tremendous heart, but never really top level.

Gatti wouldn't have been able to stop Tszyu and Castillo the way Hatton did.

I did a poll not too long ago asking the result of a theoretical Gatti-Hatton fight in 2005 and overwhelmingly the response was that Hatton would stop Gatti. Gatti isn't and was never at Hatton's level. I like Gatti a lot, I think his fights are brilliant, but he was never a top level elite fighter.
