Pryor beat everyone in front of him. Nevernmind Arguello was fading. I watched that fight on closed circuit TV live.....one of the greaest fights ever (to me anyway)
But this is boxing. What determines greatness? Who did you beat, and who beat you. My heart goes out to Pryor because he was BEGGING SRL for a fight. He never got the shot. But Pryor's resume is very incomplete to me. Just a ton of middling fighters, and one very good, past-his-prime and above-his-best-weight fighter.

If you are willing to give Pryor all-time great status for THAT resume, then you will have a hard time dis*****g PBF's (premature) claims.

Isn't it a bit disingenuous of you to pull the worse names in recent memory?

How about Judah and Delahoya? Guys on here were lauding Cotto's victory over Judah. But PBF beat a better version of Judah. And ODLH would have beaten EVERY Jr WW and damn near every WW on May 5th. Even though Oscar is past his best days. True or not?

He's THE top WW but no ATG at that weight. Judah of course has been beaten by Cotto, who many consider a fraud, of course DLH was at 154. His victory over Corrales is still his finest hour, so far, IMO.

              I don't dispute PBF's greatness...just he isn't an all time great at 140.

I know it was only the amateurs, but Pryor beat a "bigger" Hearns. Maybe Pryor is not your no. 1 at the weight but if you do not think he is top 5 LWW of all time then you will be at odds with 90 percent of the fans out there that would think otherwise.

It's the sport we have chosen to fall in love with.

Oscar had all those negative things to say about Floyd TALKING. But then his promotional partner MUSHES another man's face unprovoked at the weigh-in. What was Oscar's comment on THAT? Shane was laughing at the action.

And Hopkins blatantly admitted to the media that he ONLY did it to sell more PPV's and to make ESPN.

So, if you are going to detest PBF for TALKING, then you must also detest Oscar, barrera (who punched Morales) , hopkins, Tyson, mayorga, etc.

PBF has never taken a swipe at a fighter outside the ring. He just talks.

Look at the difference in SIZE

IMO, the victory over Oscar was his magnum opus.

Oscar hasn't lost to bustas. The list of guys who beat Oscar: Trinidad, Mosley, Hopkins, Mayweather. Add Pernell if you are so inclined.

For a guy like Floyd (STILL a JWW) to go beat a legitimate 154 guy like Oscar is pretty impressive.

The Corrales win was a good win. But Diego had one chance: to land a big punch. Oscar is a well-rounded fighter with skill, speed and power. And a BIG size advantage.

                    1) Zab Judah (who was clowning)
                    Who else?
At least he was king of the division for a decade. unlike Mayweather who ran from each division.

Pryor is around 4 or 5 to me.

I'm a stickler for the resume. What were your results? And against who? That is why I am such a supporter of RJJ. say what you will now, but he dominated TWO first-ballot HoFers in their primes and at their best weights.

At the end of the day, it's going to be hard to call PBF an all-time great at any single weight. Maybe the best argument is at 130. But if he beats Hatton and the winner of Mosley-Cotto, then there can be no argument about his inclusion on any shortlist of GOATs.

I'm not putting him above SRR. But I'm entertaining any SRL vs PBF discussion. For sure.
