Byrd got out of his contract 'cause King wasn't paying him. I expect whatever money he got was from HBO putting up money for his matches. They feel that they had to cover them cause he had a title and it could change hands.

They can request one, but most of the time he is just called upon.

but if two fighter wan a different ref and judges then what going to happen in that sitaution?

judges could be solved but the ref is abit more complicated because usally the person who is on the top the game chooses most of the time

From what I've read, they make a couple of grand plus expenses, if it’s a big fight. They're assigned either by the state commissions or by sanctioning organizations.

The organizations don't give a ****, they assign the referee and pay them a few thousand each assignment.

Basically almost any referee that has a few yrs experience can ref. a big fight, it has happened lots of times.

as you know Arum and Don King teamed up against Mayweather.

and Mayweather put the question do you really need a promoter?

and part of the money goes that is paid which is 10 mil against Oscar goes to the promoter a large part as Mayweather stated.

That is why Oscar get like 50mil or so because he is generally promoting himself.

I wonder what Dan Goosen is having to say about that
