Billy Graham has always said this - but i would like to see Ricky take on Cotto or Mosley afterwards after an easier fight at 147 to grow into it better. If the fight is close though and Hatton wins - i would like to see a rematch in the UK, in front of 90,000 fans...

How do you come to the conclusion that his fan base is about 30,000? He might not be fighting regularly on domestic television but he is still Britains most popular boxer. With the right marketing he can get 60,000 at least in Wembley. Especially if he beats Floyd Mayweather first - in that case the media will go mental and more people will be standing up and taking notice. Boxing fans know who Mayweather is - and the casual fans will know who he is once they do hear about him.

He's not even fighting regularly on subscription television, let alone terrestrial. His PPV sales for Urango were less than 90,000 (I know for Tszyu they were over 150,000).

Come to think of it, he's not even fighting regularly on PPV.

You guys dont understand. His style of fighting will not cut it at WW. Grahm isnt ****** and people on here have to realize that. That doesnt make Hatton a punk. There's no chance of him beating any of the top guys at WW. Thats why they said that the only way they go back to WW is for a Floyd fight. I believe he even had a good chance to fight Oscar but turned it down because they saw Floyd as the easier fight. The way they look at it is that Floyd may be the highest regarded fighter at WW but he's by far the easiest to beat out of all those guys because he's built like a LW. Thats why Hatton is taking this fight. He cant fight that same style at WW. He cant overpower any of those guys. All those guys are bigger then him, stronger then him, and are very good on top of it.

Why do you think everyone at WW wants to fight Floyd? They know he doesnt belong there. There huge compared to him. He most likely cant hurt them at all. If you have the fight at home of Floyd vs Baldy then rewatch it. He looks like a little boy. He was way smaller then Baldy and comparing him to Cintron, Williams, Margarito, Clottey, and Cotto is no comparison. They look like there atleast 3 weight classes naturally bigger then him. This doesnt mean that he cant beat them but it does tell you why all of them want him. Size wise none of those guys see him as a threat, he cant hurt them, they will outweight him by like 15 pounds in the ring, on top of that they will get there biggest pay day by far and be recognized as the guy who beat the #1 fighter in the game. Its not anything special these guys are during. Its purely a size thing. My only wish is that Floyd would be bigger but no matter how much he ages, he just doesnt gain weight. He's a small guy. Normally, a guy his size wouldve left 130, fought the rest of his career at LW, and maybe at the end they move to 140 to finish it out.

Hatton is a bullie but it wont work the same at 147 so he needs to retire after this fight. Its no knock on him. Its the same for all the WW's but the difference is that 154 doesnt have that much talent. Look how good Margarito is but he couldnt even beat Santos at 154. If 154 had any kind of talent there then all these WW's would suck at that weight. They would be average fighters at best. Thats why they dont move up. Its hard to move up in weight and for Floyd to do it 4 times is special. Hatton is making the right decision. He's not going to beat those big guys. There was another thread on here today asking who could Hatton beat and alot of people picked Margarito. Are you guys crazy? Margarito is ****ing huge, strong as an ox, and throws a 100 punches a round. No way Hatton even comes close to winning and there's no way he finishes the fight.

dlt thats the best post ive seen from you in ages much respect.
this fight should of been at light welterwieght right after floyd beat zab but luis collazo imo knocked rickys belief about himself. im glad its happening but its 7ilbs north too much for ricky and although floyd is small himself he makes up in other attributes to compensate for that. hatton needs to impose himself physically the same as he does at 140 up at 147 and against the guys who wouldnt look out of place at middlewieght its just not possible but against floyd who still wouldnt look out of place at 135 it should be. thats if they get rickys conditioning spot on this time
