    Quartey-Cotto @ 147. Who wins?

Who wins at 147? This would be a great fight to watch. Both fighters have crowd pleasing styles and come to fight. This The Ike Quartey of today vs. Today's Cotto. No nuthuggers please! I want honest, unbiased opinions.

I'm a big fan of both fighters, but at this point in time I don't think Quartey could handle Cotto.

I think it depends on how well Ike can look at 147 but if he looks the same exact way as he looks now then I would say 50/50. I would definatly favor Ike but the problem is that Ike's chin has looked very shakey in nearly every fight of his comeback so I could see Cotto hurting him

Yeah, I think if Vargas could overwhelm him like that, then Cotto may even knock him out late. Not knocking on Vargas or anything, but nobody pressures like Cotto.

I think Ike will definetly win this one. He has a better chin than Cotto. He's a BIG 147lber and he has amazing power in his jabs. He's really matured more as a fighter now, he has a greater punch library and his stamina problems seemed to have disappeared. Cotto just isn't tall enough, he doesn't have the chin, and he keeps his hands to high, and he squares up to his opponents too much. Vargas was a MUCH bigger man than quartey and so was Winky. He made it a hard night for both fighters, Winky had trouble hitting him all night, both Kds were visible slips.Vargas was back peddling and trying to use his footwork all night against a smaller man.

I like Vargas and think he was good in his prime but I think that fight was a fluke. If I remember right, Ike had 2 super hard fights before that one. He fought Lopez of some guy and got dropped twice in that fight and had a draw. Then he had the battle with Oscar which he lost a close one, got hurt & dropped. He then moves up a weight class and takes on Vargas in his 1st fight after that. I think when you have 2 fights like that, its easier to beat you right after that and the move up certainly didnt help when your taking on Vargas. I think he just caught Ike at the perfect time and that wouldnt have happened any other time but Ike's chin is iffy

Quartey has a 1 inch height advantage and a 4 inch reach advantage. I really can't see Cotto winning this one. Sure, he's younger and VERY determined but, Quartey is an excellent finisher and is very hard to hold/clinch(He's like the greased up deaf guy from Family Guy). He's never been knocked out at 147 he only has 2 REAL losses and 2 bull**** decisions.

There's just something in Quartey's mental game that is lacking. His defense is very stationairy with his hands up elbows in. We all know, wherever Cotto hits you he hurts you, I think he would break Quartey down, maybe even stop him.
