Are The Cotto & Floyd Dates A Setup?

Floyd had the November date so how the hell did it end up getting switched for a fight thats being made right at the same time? I have a funny feeling that this is a ploy by Oscar & Arum. If Floyd fights 1st and wins then everyone will demand to see Floyd face the winner. He may even call them out after his fight.

Now though, the other guys fight 1st. If Mosley wins then it doesnt matter but if Cotto wins then I think Oscar & Arum have a deal where Oscar jumps out of nowhere and gets the Cotto fight signed even before the Floyd-Hatton fight pops off.

The fact is that Oscar's slick ass is still around all this ****. He doesnt want Floyd or Mosley again. He wants either Cotto or Hatton. I think he really doubts that Hatton will win anyway but if he does then it would be a good backup plan. Arum also never talks about putting Cotto in with Floyd and I think he would much rather see Cotto fight Mosley and then Oscar. I think he believes Oscar is the bigger and easier fight. Oscar could also suck after killing himself to make 147. Therefore even if Floyd and Cotto win, I dont see that fight happening until like October of next year at the earliest. Thats even if Cotto fights Floyd then. If he gets by those 2 guys then I think him and Arum would probally take a easy fight 1st before they fight Floyd. Kind of like Taylor fighting Ouma & Spinks after his 3 hard fights. Cotto will want a little break.

My guess is that they may not fight until like March of 09. Knowing Floyd, he probally wont even fight anyone after Hatton and will be off for like a year and a 3rd. You know Arum would love that as it would make him easier to beat when he's 32 and been off for a long time while Cotto will be a monster in his prime. That would be a super mega fight at that time but it would suck for it to happened like that. No doubt though if Cotto wins all those fights then he would be a legend. The bottom line is that I bet Oscar & Arum have some slick deal and thats why they switched the dates.

I agree with everything except Floyd not fighting again for so long. If he's deciding for either money or legacy that he's going to keep fighting Hatton is not his only option. I still think a fight with both Mosley and Cotto would sell well...and if he gets ****** back into the sport...well...he still has guys out there to fight.

Well I find it hard to be a setup. Setup kinda means that the opposition is there just to make the 2 guys being setup look good. There are No guarantee's for any of these fighters and they are all gonna have more than enough to handle with there current opponent.

You also gotta remember that depending on how good the fights are either or both of the fights might have a rematch. However, the winners would be in prime position to fight a MEGA fight.

The scenarios for winner vs winner are:

      PBF-Cotto
      Hatton-Cotto
      Mosley-PBF
      Mosley-Hatton

Of all those scenarios the only one I highly doubt happening is Mosley-Hatton. I think if Hatton beats PBF he will almost definitely skip Mosley and fight DLH.

There is also large possibility that if Cotto wins he will fight DLH. I would prefer for Cotto to fight PBF if they are the winners of there respective fights but DLH would be more money for Cotto so its hard to call.

The ones I think would definitely happen if they win there respective fights are PBF-Mosley and Cotto-Hatton. I mean those fights are just naturals. A drunk blindfolded monkey could see that those fights would be great if there respective fighters win.

Almost any fight involving Mosley/Hatton/Cotto/De La Hoya/Mayweather is interesting. MOST have a chance at being made, too. The rest of this year and next year seem to be good for boxing.
