No, there are plenty of good boxing styles. A lot of kids assume that because the best boxer right now is a slick defensive fighter, this must be the most effective style. That's just not true. At various times in history different styles have succeeded when the right guys were employing them. Look at the two of the biggest fights of the last half-century (Duran-SRL I and Ali-Frazier I) for examples of guys coming forward and murdering the slickest of boxers. The same could happen to Mayweather, if there were a Frazier or a Duran around.
Hatton's style is fine, and he's even adaptable to some extent. Mayweather is just damn good.Last edited by kayjay; 07-30-2007, 03:46 PM.Comment

Forget about that, it has nothing to do with this upcoming fight.
And Hatton has no need to rematch Collazo, who has since lost again.
Hatton got a fight with Mayweather, and DLH even mentioned him. There's no need to go backtrackingComment

But the reality is that a review of the P4P history will show you what has been successful. No, there are plenty of good boxing styles. The past few P4p's have been Mayweather, Hopkins, Jones, Whitaker, Oscar, Toney, and Chavez.
And who did Chavez lose to?
See what I mean?
Good examples of SRL-Duran and Ali-Frazier.... Hey, quick question: what happened in the rematches? Who emerged as the better fighters?Comment

why give collazo a rematch? well he clearly beat hatton 7 rounds to 5 and also knocked hatton down and had him out on his feet maybe thats why. if you want to run away then fine but don't claim your an intense warrior with a great style to beat people when you suck.Comment

Collazo had nothing left to offer Hatton. If Collazo were to win a few more fights at 147 against big name fighters then perhaps Hatton would give him a rematch later down the line. But losing to Mosley is not the best way to go about that.
He didn't outpoint Hatton and he didn't have him out on his feet. Did you not notice that Hatton traded Collazo punch for punch even in the 12th round? However messy it looked, he had a steady head and was countering everything Collazo threw. I told you before, go and watch some more Hatton fights before commenting on his career when you have only seen his fights in America.
