Am I The Only One Who Thinks Baldy Is Very Good?

I still think he beats most of the guys out there. I think he has the worst managment team in all of boxing. He hasnt lost in like 8 years or whatever. Then he beats Zab & Gatti and is on top. The last guy he shouldve fought is Floyd. I wouldve never put him in with Floyd. You know the speed factor and Floyds movment would give him no chance at winning. It was so ******. He didnt even need that fight. He was the champ and a guy that alot of people dissrespected. If he wouldve waited around then guys wouldve came to him. He wouldve made his money. Then for a come back fight they put him in with Forrest. A super tall guy with very quick hands and can box. Sure, Mayorga & Ike's pressure bothered him but they have more speed & quickness then Baldy. You could easily see that he wasnt going to get close to him.

As the fight went on Forrest started to light him up but early I thought Baldy was looking great again. I only gave him the 2nd round but even when he lost rounds he was competetive and I thought he showed very great skills. Forrest may have beat the fight game out of him but I think he still gives nearly everyone else hell except for Williams. I would love to see him in with Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Cintron, & Mosley. Mosley also has mad speed but he doesnt box like Floyd & Forrest and he isnt long like Vernon. Baldy would be able to get to him. Hatton's people knew that he would give them hell and thats why they didnt go for that fight. They basically tried to play it off by saying that Floyd was a punk for fighting him but the truth was they were scared too. I would pay anything to see him vs Cintron. I think he destroys Kermit. I also think he beats Margarito. He's a very skilled fighter and is great with his hands but his overall speed doesnt allow him to chase super fast boxers. Cotto has some quick hands and can box but he's still right there. I would even pick Baldy over him. He has mad strength

      yes...

He's super slow, and any good boxer would beat him.

He's a solid fighter with a good chin, but Very good... no way imo.

he looked good at 154, i think he has some good fights in him still, but like it was mentioned he needs better match making, baldy can't fight guys with lateral movement and guys that strictly box from the outside. he needs guys that stand in front of him and **** away.

but at 154 he looked a hell of a lot faster than he did at 147.

hes not super slow though. Hes just in with some of the quickest guys in boxing. He looked slow by comparison AND he was hesitant and wild with his shots cause he was always missing them.

Against a guy that likes to brawl, and doesnt really have footwork and stuff, baldy beats that guy most of the time. IMO at least. Hes good, but i agree that very good is pushing it.

I think his offense is really ****ty. He has pretty good defense and a solid chin though. They say he's strong but his punches are so slow that most boxers can see his punches coming. Thats probably was his ko ratio sucks ass, most of his opponents see his punches coming.

Of course I think he is good. He looked much better at 154 than at 147. Waaaay faster as was said. He actually had some decent hand speed. I would like to see him go out on a win, but I dunno if it will happen. It was a great losing effort. All the rounds were close (with Forrest obviously winning most), and it was a hell of a fight. He took some monster shots but was never hurt. He displayed solid skills, but seemed a bit confused when Forrest got the jab going. He was never hurt, but Forrest was at one point in particular (early in the ninth) and in the end Forrest looked worse for wear.

Baldy will go down as one of the best Argentinian fighters ever with Monzon, Firpo, Loche and Vasquez.

i like him, i don't like that he will retire on a loss. He should have another big fight with a brawling fighter.

Yeah, I'd love to see him in there with Margarito. I'd pick Baldy by close desicion on that one. Especially the 154 Carlos. He looked like an entirely different fighter.

Yes you are. Baldomir is an average fighter with a great chin, stop lying to yourselves. What has he shown to be called "very good"?
