max kelerman comments on mayweather vs cotto and hatton

    on cotto
    cotto wud get torn up
    hatton
hatton so smothering fighter and throws so many punches, i would favour mayweather but a guy who throws as many punches as hatton overwhelms a defence like mayweather

evrybody has a chance, plans change when you get hit, but saying that cotto would get torn up is ridiculous.

The reason people are ignoring this is because they saw this scenario before with Jesus Chavez. Now you can go ahead and say, Hatton hits harder, but that's not the point, because like we have seen before, power doesn't matter until it connects. In the first round of the Chavez fight, the punchstats were, Mayweather: 23 of 56, Chavez: 6 of 92. So it's not like Floyd will just be running to make Hatton miss, he dodges and counterpunches. I know I'm not an expert, but I think my analysis makes a lot more sense than (at least what is represented above as) Kellerman's blanket statement.

                  i think its the opposite.
hatton would get torn up. cotto has the best chance out of any welterweight to beat mayweather.

I agree that Cotto has a better chance at beating Mayweather than Hatton does but as far as out of any welterweight, I'd have to disagree. I think Williams may have an equally as good chance as Cotto based on his high punching volume, and honestly, his height advantage. You can't discredit what both of those things did for him against Margarito.
